Repack Update: The Vanishing ‘Below-600Mhz’Spectrum
Our next meeting is Tuesday, June 11th as we once again meet at the North Royalton branch of the Cuyahoga County Library, 5071 Wallings Road, North Royalton, Ohio 44133 – in meeting room 124, or 121 depending on availability. We’ll post an SBE sign on the appropriate door, or just look for us as they are down the same hallway. The Library is just east of State Road (Rt 94), on the north side of the road, near the YMCA. There is ample free parking. Due to the Library closing time of 9pm, we will gather beginning at 6pm, with our chapter meeting at 7pm with the program to follow.
We will feature a presentation that covers OTA (over-the air) reception techniques with regard to TV, ways to set up an OTA distribution system in your home, and even info on how to incorporate TV-guide info and other tips, presented by Robert Leskovec and Jim Arcaro. We will also have an update on the repack, presented by Jim Baird. This will be very informative with respect to what’s happening with the 470-600mhz RF spectrum, and could be of importance particularly to those using UHF wireless microphone and IFB systems. As the open spectrum is allocated you need to know which channels and frequencies may become unavailable soon or in the not-so-distant future. Your questions during or after these presentations is encouraged.
